Animal Kingdom Lodge – Kidani Village

A Photo Review of Animal Kingdom Lodge – Kidani Village

On our last family trip to Walt Disney World, we stayed in a 1-bedroom villa at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge – Kidani Village.  It was amazing! We had a savannah view room and could go out on our balcony at anytime and see animals.  So fun! Definitely a fun and unique experience right at the resort.

Staying at Animal Kingdom Lodge is almost like being on your own African Safari!  Animal Kingdom Lodge is made up of two different resorts…Jambo House and Kidani Village.  Jambo House is the main resort building for Animal Kingdom Lodge.  Kidani Village is part of the Disney Vacation Club, but you don’t have to be a DVC member in order to stay at Kidani Village. Kidani Village is about a 10 minute walk to Jambo House or there is a shuttle bus you can take to get to Jambo House.  Kidani does have it’s own bus stop area, so you don’t have to worry about going to Jambo House to get on the bus to your favorite Disney theme park.

When you arrive at Kidani Village, you immediately start noticing all of the details.  I loved the lantern wall by the entrance and all of the different sayings located on walls around the resort.

Animal Kingdom Lodge – Kidani Village 1 Bedroom Villa

After we checked in, our room wasn’t quite ready, so we headed to Magic Kingdom for the day.  Later, I got a text letting me know our room was ready, but we didn’t make it back to our room until after it was already dark outside, so no savannah pictures on our first day there.  We did get a lot of great pictures of the animals in the days to come.  Here are some pictures of our 1-bedroom villa.  We were on the 3rd floor of the Rafiki side of Kidani Village.

There are two bathrooms in Kidani’s 1-bedroom Villas.  With some of the other DVC resorts 1-bedroom villas, you might only have 1 bathroom, so this is really nice that there are two full bathrooms.

Not pictured is one of my favorite things about staying in a DVC Villa….the washer and dryer.  I love having my own washer and dryer.  You can pack a little less and do laundry in your room without going to the community laundry area of the resort.

Kidani Village Savannah

Our first morning at the resort, we were able to really check out the savannah from our balcony.  So many animals.  Anytime we went out on the balcony, there were animals.

Loved watching this giraffe. He was right outside our room most of the morning.

A few zebras…including a baby.

Some ankole cattle and wildebeest.

Samawati Springs Pool at Kidani Village

If we weren’t at the parks, we did spend some time at the Samawati Springs Pool at Kidani Village.  The pool is pretty amazing. There is a great waterslide and a really neat water play area for younger kids.  There is also a bar area right by the pool.  Every time we were at the pool there was a trivia game going on or some other fun game to play while enjoying the pool.

If you are at Kidani Village and would like to have a nice meal, there is a restaurant inside the resort named Sanaa.  There is a quick-service breakfast at Sanaa that does not require a reservation.  If you want to dine here for lunch or dinner, reservations are highly recommended.

If you are looking for other ways to enjoy Animal Kingdom Lodge – Kidani Village, you can relax in the lobby or out on the viewing deck.  Other activities include campfire activities, the Survival of the Fittest Fitness Center, the Community Hall where you can find board games, movies and other games, Safari So Good Arcade, tennis and basketball courts and more.  If you want to make Animal Kingdom Lodge – Kidani Village your next home when you stay at Disney World, contact me at valerie@magical-vacations.com and I would be happy to put together some quotes for you.  Remember my Disney destinations planning services are FREE!!
