This was our last morning to spend at Aulani. We finished packing and getting ready. I had a client who was ready to book their summer Walt Disney World trip, so I worked on that a little that morning and got their dining booked and all their Fast Pass+ reservations made.
Before we knew it, it was time to leave out room. Our flight wasn’t until 9 p.m., so we had several hours from check out until it was time to leave for the airport. We took all of our luggage out to our rental van and got it packed up.
We decided to take the elevator up to the top floor of the Ewa Tower to see what the view was like on the other side of the resort.
Then, we took the kids to Aunty’s Beach House so they could hang out there for a while. Michael and I went into the gift shop to order our PhotoPass CD and then walked around the resort a little.
We also looked around Hale Manu one last time.
I had decided I wanted to take as many pictures of the Menehune hiding around the resort as I could.
It’s fun to look around the resort and see the little reminders of Disney.
After our PhotoPass CD was ready, Michael and I went to the front desk to get a key to the Luana Lounge. This is an area that resort guests can go to relax and hang out in while they are waiting for their departure. You can get a one-time use key from the front desk. There are two sitting areas with TVs on either side of the lounge and then really nice restroom areas with showers. There were a few people who had went to the pool that morning and then showered and changed in the Luana Lounge restroom/locker rooms before leaving the resort.
There were a few Menehune hiding in the Launa Lounge.
After a while, the kids were ready to leave Aunty’s Beach House. We knew this because they had asked the cast members at Aunty’s to call us. Michael stayed in the lounge and I went and got the kids. We all stayed in the lounge for a while and met a really nice family from Illinois. The kids and their daughter talked Minecraft for a while and enjoyed each other’s company.
It wasn’t long before we decided we should go ahead and leave to head back towards Honolulu. A few more Menehune as we were leaving.
We had a good trip and a wonderful, magical time at Disney’s Aulani Resort & Spa! We can’t wait to go back again sometime. It was kind of sad to leave.
We got to the airport not knowing that in Honolulu, the afternoons at the airport are very slow and there are not a lot of workers around. We ended up sitting outside on a bench with a lot of other people who didn’t realize this either. Around 6 p.m., the airport came to life and it was time to get checked in. We flew all night and landed in Phoenix around 6 a.m. One last sunrise photo. This time from the plane as we were coming back over the mainland.
Thanks for reading my blog posts about Disney’s Aulani Resort & Spa. Let me know if/when you want to plan a trip to Disney’s Aulani Resort & Spa. I would be happy to be your Disney agent! °o°
