Disney World May 2015 – Day 1!

I know it has been way too long since I have updated this blog, but sometimes life gets busy and then I just got out of the habit.  Hopefully, I will start to do better 🙂

This past May 2015, we took the kids to Disney World to celebrate their birthday.  This was a first for us.  We had never been there for a birthday celebration, so it was a lot of fun to see how guests are treated when they are wearing their birthday buttons.  There wasn’t a single day or really moment where someone wasn’t telling the kids “Happy Birthday” or doing something special for them.

On this trip, we stayed in a  1-bedroom Villa at Bay Lake Tower.  After we arrived at The Contemporary Resort on the Magical Express and were checked in, we ate lunch at The Contempo Cafe.  Taylor wasn’t feeling all that great…we had experienced a pretty turbulent flight and she was filling the effects from it.  We stayed at the resort for a while to let her rest and start feeling better. Once she gave us the go-ahead, we headed over to Magic Kingdom for a few hours before our dinner at ‘Ohana.

Our first stop at Magic Kingdom was to use our first Fast Pass+ to meet Mickey!  This was our first time to meet Mickey Mouse at Town Square Theater.  He talks!

After meeting Mickey, the boys went off to ride Space Mountain.  Taylor wouldn’t ride it, so we headed over to Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin.  With our Fast Pass+ reservations, we were able to get right on our ride, so we then went to the Journey of the Little Mermaid.

We finished our time at the Magic Kingdom by using our third Fast Pass+ at Big Thunder Mountain and riding Pirates of the Caribbean.

Zachary had to make a stop at the Adventureland Tiki misters before we left.

When we were finished, we headed over to The Polynesian Village Resort for our dinner at ‘Ohana.  This was our first time to go to the Poly after the renovations.  I had been really curious to see the lobby after reading opinions online that were not positive. I thought the lobby looked really nice and it was open and easier to get through.

Dinner at ‘Ohana was great as always!  The kids got to experience their first birthday treats!

After dinner, we went back to our resort.  After taking a quick look at the view from our balcony, we went to sleep!
