Disney Grand Californian Hotel & Spa
Going to Disneyland, the park where it all was started, is such a magical experience. Staying at one of the three Disneyland Resorts makes going to the place where it was all started, even better. I have had the opportunity to stay at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa a few times. It’s a lovely resort and it is about as close as you can get to the two parks, Disneyland and Disney’s California Adventure. In fact, Disney’s Grand Californian even has it’s own entrance into Disney’s California Adventure and some of the rooms look directly over the park! I don’t think you can get any closer than that!
When you go inside Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa, you go inside a beautiful lobby with an amazing grand fireplace. There are lots of sofas, tables and chairs in the lobby that are nice to sit back and enjoy a drink from the Hearthstone Lounge. You can even sit in a rocking chair in front of the fireplace.
The hotel houses a few table-service restaurants, including a buffet character breakfast or brunch with Mickey and Friends at Storytellers Cafe. In the evening, Storytellers serves a non-character buffet dinner. Another great restaurant is Napa Rose. Napa Rose is a Signature Dining Experience with an extensive wine list. For breakfast, you can reserve the Disney Princess Breakfast Adventure. It is also open for dinner, no characters. There is also a quick-service dining location called
Tenaya Stone Spa
The Tenaya Stone Spa will open in the Spring of 2020. The Manadara Spa is being reimagined by Imagineers to the Tenaya Stone Spa. The theme of the new spa is inspired by “the spirit of nature and California heritage.” There will be a wide-range of spa treatments available to be able to sit back, relax and be pampered.
Disney’s Grand Californian is a large resort with an American Craftsman theme. Currently, it is the only Disney resort at Disneyland that features Deluxe Villas, as well as regular guest rooms and suites.
Standard Guest Room
During October 2019, I was able to stay in room 3334, a Standard Guest Room at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa. This room had a slight view of the pool and was really close to the elevators in this section of the hotel. This particular room only sleeps up to 4 adults.
I was able to go into another Standard Guest Room that sleeps up to 5 adults that had the twin-size sleeper. It was in place of where the sofa was in the other room.
Disney Grand Californian Hotel & Spa 2-Bedroom Villa
During the summer of 2019, I was able to stay in a 2-bedroom villa at Disney’s Grand Californian. Disney villas are like a home away from home. In the 1- and 2-bedroom villas, there is a full kitchen, a nice dining area and a family room separate from the bedroom(s).

The family room has a sofa bed and a
Master Bedroom and Bathroom
The Master Bedroom features a king-size bed, work table and entertainment television area.
The two-bedroom villas have 3 full bathrooms, which is great when you have several people who need to get ready each day. They also have a washer/dryer combo. I’ve said it many times that the washer/dryer is one of my favorite features in the Disney villas. I love being able to go home with clean laundry and not worrying about the mountain of vacation laundry to do when vacation is over. It also helps with packing less because you can clean a load of clothes and not have to pack as much.
