The popular Gingerbread House at the Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is now open!!! If you haven’t seen the gingerbread house, you should plan a time to go Disney World during the Christmas season and stop in the lobby of the Grand Floridian Resort & Spa to check out this giant house! I always love seeing it once it is built. One year, we were there and were able to see being built. It’s quite amazing.
This year marks a special occasion for the Grand Floridian’s Gingerbread House. It is celebrating it’s 20th year! One of the fun things about the house is that guests can buy treats from the house. On one side is a walk-up counter.
If you are lucky enough to go to the Grand Floridian during the Christmas season, take a moment to walk around the Gingerbread House and look at all the fun details. The construction and the details are so fun to look at. It is constructed onsite each year by some of the resort chefs. According to the sign by the house, it is made up of 1,050 pounds of honey, 140 pints of egg whites, 600 pounds of powdered sugar, 700 pounds of Chocolate, 800 pounds of flour, 35 pounds of spices and tons of creativity, along with Disney Magic and Pixie Dust!
