Visiting Chef Mickey’s Restaurant

Who is ready to meet the Fab 5 all in one place?!  Chef Mickey’s is the place to do just that!  It had been several years since I visited Chef Mickey’s and recently I had a chance to go there for breakfast.  It was just as fun as I remember it being when we would go when our kids were younger.  I went with two other adults and it was just as much fun going as adults without kids with us as it was when I would take my kids when they were younger. Chef Mickey’s is one of the restaurants that you have to go to at least once.  It is great for both boys and girls and is like a Disney rite of passage.

Chef Mickey’s is located in Disney’s Contemporary Resort in The Grand Canyon Concourse on the 4th floor. This is a great place to go if you are spending the day at Magic Kingdom and want a meal close to the park.  If you are at Magic Kingdom, you can easily walk to the Contemporary Resort or you can take the Monorail…it is the first stop after leaving the Magic Kingdom. This makes it a great place to either start your day with breakfast before heading to the Magic Kingdom or to take a break from the park with brunch or dinner.

Breakfast, brunch and dinner are served at Chef Mickey’s. It is a buffet.  Before you are seated, there is a photo spot and a Photopass Photographer to take your photo to remember your time at Chef Mickey’s. There are four different dining rooms/areas inside Chef Mickey’s.  Depending on where your table is, you might be able to see the monorail go by!

I’ve said in the past that having character dining reservations is one of the best ways to meet some of the characters.  You don’t have to stand in a line waiting to meet them.  You can eat your meal and the characters come to your table to meet you, take pictures and sign autographs.  Chef Mickey’s is one of the best places to meet Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald and Pluto all while eating a meal.  What a time saver!  The times I have dined here, I have noticed the characters take their time meeting guests and sometimes will come back around, so you may get the chance to hang out with Mickey more than once while you are eating.
