When you are busy packing for your trip to Disney World, take time to think about what you might want to pack in your carry-on bag. If you are flying into Orlando International Airport (MCO), then you can take advantage of using Disney’s Magical Express. This is a complimentary motor coach round-trip transportation that can be added to your Walt Disney World Resort Reservation. If you use this service, you will want to make sure you pack your carry-on bag with things you will need for that first day at Disney World.
When you use Disney’s Magical Express, you have the option of using their special Magical Express tags on your luggage. These tags indicate that you want Magical Express to pick up your luggage for you, instead of you going to baggage claim and waiting for your bags to come out and then lugging them through the airport to get to your transportation. A few hours after you have arrived at your Disney resort, you luggage will magically appear in your room. Please note that this can take a few hours, which is why you want to prepare your carry-on bag with things you will need for the day.
A few suggestions for your carry-on bag to help with your first day at Disney World:
Magic Bands – When you arrive at the airport, you will want to put your Magic Bands on so you can scan them to get on the Magical Express. Do not pack these in your checked luggage. You will need them the moment you get to Disney World.
Magical Vacations Itinerary Book – You will want to have this handy to see all of your reservations and help be your guide through the parks.
Travel Sunscreen – If you are arriving early and plan to go to a park on your arrival day or to the pool, you will want to make sure to pack travel sunscreen.
Swimsuits – If you plan to go swimming on your arrival day.
Camera – Don’t want to miss out on any photos.
Phone, charging cords and battery sticks – You will want all of these to keep your phone battery fresh.
Smaller Bag – I always pack a smaller bag, whether it is a small crossbody purse or a small backpack inside my carry-on so that when I get to the resort I can put the things I will need for the parks in the small bag and leave my carry-on bag with Bell Services for the day.
Of course there are other items that some may need and others may not. Extra change of clothes, computer, small toiletry items, etc.
